How to Sign Your Car Title in Ohio

Don’t Sign Until You’re With a Notary
Ohio titles must be signed in front of a licensed notary. Many banks, UPS stores, AAA offices, and shipping centers offer this service. Signing early can void your title. Need help finding a notary? Use our simple Notary Locator to locate a local service.
Signing your title
Please follow these easy steps:
On the back of the title, in the Assignment of Ownership section, please:
Sign the title
- Sign your name in the Seller’s Signature section.
Print your name
- Print your name in the Seller’s Printed Name section.
Print our name
- Print “Apex Avenue” in the Buyer(s) section.

Multiple owners:
If multiple owners are listed, check the registered owner section and use the guide below to see how the additional owner must sign.

If both owners are required, please Sign and Print 2nd owners name in the same spaces as the initial owner.
Common mistakes to avoid
These common mistakes can delay your payment and vehicle collection, so double-check the points below before signing.
⚠ Only sign and print your name and print “Apex Avenue” — we’ll handle the rest.
⚠ Signatures must match the owner(s) listed on the front – Contact us first if your name has changed or you’re not listed.
⚠ If multiple owners are listed, both may need to sign — see above for details.
⚠ Use blue or black ink only.
⚠ Don’t use white-out, scribble, or cross out errors — it will void the title.
Send Us a Photo
Once you’ve signed and printed your name(s), simply email us clear photos of the full title document to title@apexavenue.com.
